Welcome to Gasthof Zufriedenheit, our boutique hotel in the heart of Naumburg. In the centre of the historic old town and at the gateway to the Saale-Unstrut wine region, a unique and elegant stay awaits you. Our hotel offers 15 spacious rooms and two suites, 12 of which overlooking the courtyard garden. The two cosy maisonette suites and the three Deluxe rooms offer views of the Steinweg – a centuries-old pedestrian zone connecting the Cathedral and marketplace. Enjoy the highest satisfaction and contemporary indulgence in our in-house restaurant and wine bar – perfect for cultural and gourmet travellers, business meetings, or family stays.
Gasthof Zufriedenheit harbours a rich history dating back to the 18th century. After a fire in 1717, the half-timbered house was rebuilt over a centuries-old vaulted cellar. In the 19th century, the building underwent minimal alterations by the owners, mainly tailors and carpenters. In the 20th century, roof modifications were made, and the structure of the ground floor was altered, while the upper floor remained largely unchanged. The adjacent house at Steinweg 26, rebuilt after an 18th-century fire, reveals an old vaulted cellar, indicating a former connection to the neighbouring property.
In 1852, Albert Hauck opened a tavern in the house, later named “Zur Zufriedenheit.“ The property changed hands several times and underwent renovations and expansions. In the 1930s, the hotel was used by the FDJ, and later, the district savings bank planned to open a branch here. After years of vacancy, Gasthof Zufriedenheit reopened in 2017 as a modern hotel with a wine bar, restaurant, and courtyard garden. The history of the building is reflected in the faithfully reconstructed façades and the preserved vaulted cellar. Today, Gasthof Zufriedenheit offers 15 rooms and two maisonette suites, one in the main house and one in the courtyard annex.
